About
I graduated from UAL, Wimbledon College of Art in 2014 with BA in Painting and later in 2018 with MA Painting. I have exhibited both in the UK and abroad, including the Koppel project, the Royal Scottish Academy, Sotheby's, Young Collectors, the CICA Museum (south Korea) Hans Brinker prize (Amsterdam) and the BEEP Painting Biennel 2024.
My painting style and mediums have changed over the years, from figurative paintings of people and animals over 10 years ago, to wooden wall mounted fabrications later on, and now to my abstracted acrylic based works.
My paintings are flashes of visual nuances influenced by the natural world. Light, shadow, fleeting reflections, refractions, landscapes, and water, all serve as inspiration for my paintings. Through my work, I want to extract the essence of these elements into abstracted forms through gesture, colour and light that invite contemplation and interpretation.
Ultimately, I want to create a sense of organic ambiguity, where the viewer is invited to immerse themselves in a world of visual poetry. I push for a sense of immediacy and impermanence which starts at the surface, but gradually becomes more engaging with time.
I sometimes use quotes from books to title my paintings which I believe have influenced my process and perception of my practice. These range from books by neurologists like Donald Hoffman, to writers and philosophers like Fernando Pessoa.
